DSL Liverpool holds a range of social events on a regular basis. Our events have proven to be very successful, which has been reinforced through the many positive reviews we receive. As trustees, we feel our social events are important so families can come together, have fun, and share experiences with each other.
Throughout the year Down Syndrome Liverpool hold a number of events at the Yellow Sub held at Brunswick business park. This is a privately booked event open to our members and their families, enabling everyone to meet in a safe, fun environment. During the sessions the young people have the opportunity to play and make new friends, while carers and parents are able to share experiences and support each other. This event is aimed at young people aged 0 - 12 years.
Down Syndrome Liverpool also holds a number of events at Pizza Express each year, which is held at the Albert Dock in Liverpool. This is open to members of Down Syndrome Liverpool and is aimed at teenagers and adults and their carers and families. This event is aimed at young people aged 13 years plus
Down Syndrome Liverpool organize summer trips for our young people and adults, carers and families. Transport is provided at a designated meeting place via coaches and is a fun filled day much appreciated by our members and their families. There is a small fee to book a place on our popular day trips, the majority of costs being provided by Down Syndrome Liverpool. This event is aimed at young people and adults of all ages.
Down Syndrome Liverpool have a Christmas party each year held at the Titanic Hotel Stanley Dock Liverpool. This is a very special time for our members where everyone comes together to enjoy the festive time as a community. At the Christmas party we have an amazing grotto for the children, entertainment, food, presents, character visits and much more. This event is aimed at young people and adults of all ages.
Throughout the year Down Syndrome Liverpool provide a range of other events. This has included; our amazing red carpet evening balls, race nights, fashion shows, Halloween parties, pirate princess parties, staged acting themed events, and our very important annual general meeting.
As trustees, we pride ourselves with the dedication and commitment we place on our social events. We feel, these enable our young people and adults to have many opportunities to come together, enjoy having fun, make new friendships, all of which supports their emotional well being as they grow and flourish into adulthood.
