DSL relies on donations and fundraising to maintain the charity and the work it does in the community.
Many of our members & their families have done an array of things to raise funds from jumping out of planes, walking, cycling, running marathons, party nights & even getting tattoos to raise funds.
Our own fundraising efforts have been our biannual Ball, which is a big fundraiser, we have held tea parties, Race Nights & fashion shows to name but a few.
The other way in which we raise funds is when we are chosen by local companies to be their Charity of the year whereby we work in partnership with the companies to raise funds and crucially raise awareness about Down Syndrome.
Over the last 10 years we have been fortunate to work with the following companies:
Jaguar Land Rover
Sainsbury (East Prescot Road)
The Titanic Hotel
The Co-op
Working with the above companies opened up other opportunities. When working with Jaguar we were introduced to the Titanic Hotel and from the Titanic we were introduced to several companies & organisations, one being Professional Liverpool. This offered us the opportunity to speak to over 600 people from the business community about DS and the work we do here in Liverpool, whilst also raising funds.
We have recently been chosen as the charity of the year by KURA. We have also been chosen by the Co-Op and we look forward to working with both these companies.
DSL would be happy to work with companies in the city who would be willing to help us raise funds and raise awareness about the condition, if you are one such company please get in touch.

We'd like to give a special thanks to everyone who supports DSL with such generous donations. We are so grateful for the kindness shown to our association, enabling us to keep bringing our community together and supporting our young people with Down Syndrome.
