Details for football coaching sessions on Saturdays until we can access indoor facilities in line with government guidelines
St Julie's High School, 7 Speke Rd Woolton, L25 7TN, Saturday 9.30am
Our football coaching provides opportunities for our young people with Down Syndrome and their siblings to have fun, make new friendships and benefit from developing gross motor skills. The football coaching also enables young people to appreciate the importance of active lifestyles.
Saturday morning football group continues to provide an enjoyable experience for our young people.
The football coaching welcomes boys and girls who have Down Syndrome of all ages, plus brothers, sisters or other family members are also very welcome to come and join in.
We meet most Saturday mornings except the first Saturday of each month, parents and guardians keep in touch with each other using WhatsApp or text messaging so everybody is aware of any changes as occasionally the sports hall may not be available.
Venue: Greenbank Sports Academy
Greenbank Lane, Liverpool L17 1AG
Time: 09.00 – 10.00
We charge £1.50/participant which helps towards the hire of the sports hall (we are always indoors)
James and Declan are brilliant with the kids they both have their Level 1 FA football coaching qualification, they make sure that the kids have an enjoyable experience while learning basic footballing skills, everybody has a chance to score a goal and they all interact.
Our Saturday morning group has now been running for 18 years, our founding coach Alan Atkinson has recently handed the lead coaching reins to James and Declan who continue Alan’s philosophy of inclusiveness and patience.
We would also like to thank Down’s Syndrome Liverpool who have continued to support costs not covered by the £1.50 charge.
